What do Type 5 and Type 6 coveralls mean? Our current status
Type 5 and Type 6 describe different protective-clothing test scopes. Neither term follows automatically from HDPE fabric, a PE film layer or taped seams.
What does Type 5 mean?
ISO 13982-1 covers full-body clothing against airborne solid particles. Its scope does not establish protection against every chemical or every way particles can contact clothing. Check the complete garment and relevant evidence, rather than treating a fabric description as a Type 5 result.
What does Type 6 mean?
EN 13034 addresses limited protection against liquid chemicals. Its garment assessment includes resistance to penetration by light spray. This is not a general claim of liquid-tightness or a guarantee against every chemical; task-specific selection remains necessary.

What would need to happen before a conformity claim?
Agree the exact model, intended use, market and legal entity; arrange the applicable testing and conformity assessment; verify the resulting documents, labels and instructions. A supplier-owned garment report cannot be reassigned to another company's garment just because the fabric comes from the same source.
Buyer-requested testing may be arranged by separate agreement. For planning, a CE conformity assessment may take approximately 2–3 months, with scope, cost, schedule and outcome to be agreed. This estimate is not evidence of an assessment in progress or a promise of certification.
